jumpmasters all made a practice jump. A circle was formed with ribbons.
I believe the circle was fifty feet in diameter, if my memory is
correct. We were supposed to jump until we hit within the circle. The
wind was not blowing, so most of us made it on the first try. For
those few of us who had already taken the Jumpmaster Course, it was a
piece of cake. Unfortunately, for those who were to jumpmaster their
aircraft, or their stick, the ease of this exercise would come back to
bite them. It was the big leagues now, where minor errors of judgment
could, and did, kill.
