Pfc Arvle C.Maxwell, Infantry, United States Army. For gallantry in action on Corregidor, Philippine Islands, (text illegible)...on 27 February 1945...(text illegible)..(paraphrase continues)

 

In Company G's mop-up of a ravine north east of Kindley Field, a trooper fell wounded before one of three supporting enemy caves. Pfc. Maxwell rushed to his fallen comrade, firing his Thompson submachine gun with one hand and carrying his buddy to safety with the other.
