Captain Holger S. Mouritsen, Medical Corps, United States Army. For gallantry in action on Corregidor, Philippine Islands, (text illegible)...on 26 February 1945...(text illegible)..(paraphrase continues)

 

Captain Mouritsen..of the Medical Corps of the 462d Parachute Field Artillery Battalion, was wounded in the explosion (at Monkey Point)..Nevertheless, he immediately began to care for the wounded. He saved the surviving tank trooper from death by immediately amputating the soldier's leg. Captsin Mouritsen continued his efforts to succour the wounded until he lost consciousness because of his own injuries. For his courageous devotion to duty..
