Encounters a  long line of vehicles (USA Chevrolets), civilian cars, troop motorcycles, and some Jap vehicles. We felt they were hiding them in near the Btry. Smith where there Endo’s force was .located. We (us dumb company grade officers) felt the vehicles were hidden here in order to transport troops where needed when we made an amphibious landing.  Regiment obviously never gave a thought to Japs concentrating  in that area. But they never sent one member of regimental intelligence to check out our find of records in Btry. Smith. (Calhoun)

NIGHT OF 20/21 FEBRUARY

TIME LOCALITY UNIT OCCURRENCE, INCIDENT, OR MESSAGE ACTION

2d Bn The nights were quiet and peaceful for now.  We enjoyed being up in the light house and on the water tanks.  During the earlier nights we never knew where the Japs were hiding - around us, under us, or just where.  Now they had to come up to get us.
