One thing I noticed is that the low cliff had disappeared quickly so that the terrain was just a gentle slope from the beach up towards the airfield. It was along this area that the second wave of Japanese landing barges, swept here by a strong current,  was caught in a heavy crossfire, and almost entirely wiped out.  The casualties were of the order of 80%.
