The double photo of the soldiers sitting on a banca, are on South Beach. The photographer would have been facing West.  The native Barrio was located on the South side of Bottomside.  Furthermore, the Spanish Fort is up the hill on the South side of the island. It might be a bit hard to find the Spanish Fort these days because the Corregidor Foundation moved all the people up to that area and put them in new housing. I have not been there since this move was completed but the Fort must sit right in the middle of the area. -Don Abbott
