These
are from Frank Byrd's collection. They are his grandfather and grandmother. I
can't think of any question to ask Frank, except to admire his Grandad's taste, so you can
just enjoy the view.
The Golden staircase (right) was originally used as a 'rail' line to cart cement and sand materials up to topside for building purposes. When the works were completed it was converted to the stairway shortcut.
