Manila taken in early '45. There is still artillery lined up at  Lawton, just opposite Intramuros, making me suspect that the battle is still being waged. In the foreground on both sides of the river is Malacañan, with it's 40 acre gardens.  Further west is Quiapo. On the south side of the Pasig River, you can make out the wrecked City Hall, and behind that Luneta Park and the Manila Hotel can be clearly seen.
