CLUM, Paul S.
11 May 1945
Golden Gate National Cemetery
Section C
Site 747

He was a boy from a farm in Oregon with only one year of high school. And, I think he may have been a year too young but falsified in order to enlist. His death devastated the family; his older brothers were serving in the Navy at that time and all came home safe. My grandfather said that when he received the notice of Paul's death, he tore it up and threw it into the sea, and 60 years later he still cried if someone brought it up. No one wants to discuss it, and most who remember him are gone now.
