On page
192 of Devlin’s “Back to
Corregidor”
he tells of a trooper who was killed when a
Sherman
tank suddenly backed and pivoted.
By
day’s end on the 24th, word got to us in the third Platoon that
it was Delucia.
Howard Lout
On
24 February, we ("A" Co.) moved to the east side of Malinta Hill and formed
a perimeter for the night. The 1st Platoon of "A" Co. moved around Malinta
to the north with the two tanks and that was where Tony DeLucia was crushed
by one of the tanks. The tank gunners also killed 3 or 4 of our men at the
same time.
