Frank E. HEAD

Pfc, Second Platoon, "A" Company

K.I.A., Geary Pt. Corregidor

 21 Feb 1945

I no longer remember which day, but "A" Company patrolled down from topside, then west along the coastal road past Geary Point.  Somewhere ahead of my place in the column, Frank Head was killed by, I believe, just one shot. His body was wrapped in a poncho and tied there with some sound power telephone wire we had.

I made sure to get on one end of the pole when it was time to carry him back. About a year before that Frank and I had shared occupancy of a hotel room while on furlough in Newcastle , Australia.
