Second day, coming in by boat on Black Beach. The first shock has worn off the Japanese defenders from the  preparatory bombing and strafing.  The water landings at Black Beach are contested by firing from numerous caves which are only stopped when the destroyer Claxton moves in close to shell the caves. .
