That's me on the left, with the M-1918 Trench Knife. The trooper with the bayonet is Dragon. The photo was taken  at Tent City, in Alabama, before we moved to Fayetteville NC.  We were there on exercises, one of which included a night attack on  a Tank Company. We used bags of flour as grenades, to mark the tank as being knocked out. I dang near broke my back running in on the attack. The tank park had a perimeter ditch about 4 ft wide, and when my foot hit the air where the ground should have been, I hit the other side of the ditch with my shoulder, bending my body in entirely the wrong direction. Ouch!
