The Japanese Staff surrender their swords
to the 503d RCT Staff. The tall
officer towards the middle of the 503d Staff is Jack Blair, who had
joined us at Ft. Bragg in 1942. He'd spent most of his time with "I"
Company, and in Negros had been with 3d Bn. Headquarters. I
never saw him, not even once, in a foul mood. He would stay with the
army, retiring a General.
