On 3 June 1944, this aircraft was one of 16 Kittyhawks which
engaged 15 Japanese aircraft, shooting down a total of up to nime
Japanes aircraft for the loss of one Kittyhawk. had participated in last
major RAAF air combat of WW2 in the Pacific with 78 Squadron and on that
occasion was flown by F/Sgt Richard Roy.
On
10 August 44 it crashed near Sarkorem village while carrying out a
strafing attack with F/Sgt Robert Paul Scott Brown posted missing,
believed killed.
