PRACTICE JUMP
- This casual line awaiting loading up the ladder into this C-47, and
the lack of load that the men are carrying, is a strong indication that
this is a "Hollywood" or "Sunday" jump. Note the tape over the
cargo door hinge - all potential obstructions aft the door were taped so
as to prevent any loose item being caught on the aircraft. It was
possible for a man to be caught on the tailplane of the aircraft even
still, in which case the trooper was expected to cut the straps of his
canopy, and then deploy his reserve chute. |
