DISEMBARKING AT ORO BAY, NEW GUINEA - On 14 April 1944, the USAT SEA CAT finally dropped anchor at Oro Bay, New Guinea. We debarked and were transported in DUKWs from the ship's gangway direct to the battalion area at Cape Sudest.  After less than two months in Brisbane with its good food, and social activities, strenuous training, we were again returned, and in top physical condition and mental capability..
