T/5 Lester R. PINTER, .Medical Corps.. United States Army. For gallantry in action on Corregidor, Philippine Islands, ...on 24 February 1945..

 

During the night of 24 February, while Company A was receiving damaging mortar fire, T/5 Lester R. Pinter, a medic, crawled through the enemy fire and challenging fire from friendly troops to minister to wounded troopers. For his unselfish and  heroic actions, he was awarded the Silver Star.

Pinter was one of the men killed in the Monkey Point explosion of 26 Feb.
