PARATROOPER KIT ON DISPLAY

.
The 503d PIR's riggers developed a series of locally fabricated webbing  . Specially developed ammunition pouches were fitted to the M1936 pistol belts, rather than using standard cartridge belts and magazine pockets. The M1928 cartridge belt carried eight clips, and the 503d trooper could carry a five pocket assembly, each with five cells - a total of twenty-five clips (edge-wise, rather than flat.)

During the early years, the helmet was worn with the netting, but by Corregidor, the standard practice was to wear the helmet "clean".
