The entire 2d Battalion was loaded
on a train from Fabrica to Malapasoc, July 1945. The train stopped
at Dain-Ay Bridge, and about 3 to 5 minutes after this picture was
taken, it was bombed by a B-24. "Friendly Fire" they call it today.
Fortunately, the bombs straddled the line, and no-one was killed.
Facing the camera is
Maurice St. Germain. of Vermont. We shipped out from the US
together, and arrived in the third squad of 1st Pltoon, "D" Company
together. With head turned away is Alderman (Squad Sergeant), 3rd
Squad, 1st Platoon. Both are from "D" Company.
