Sergio S. Abad

Pfc. Sergio S. Abad, 21, of Morganfield, Kentucky; One of nine soldiers killed when their outpost was attacked by small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades by enemy forces in Wanat, Afghanistan, on July 13, 2008. He was member of 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne).

JONATHAN R. AYERS

Cpl. Jonathan R. Ayers, 24 of Snellville, Georgia. One of nine soldiers killed when their outpost was attacked by small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades by enemy forces in Wanat, Afghanistan, on July 13, 2008. He was member of 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne).

JASON M. BOGAR

Cpl. Jason M. Bogar, 25 of Seattle, Washington.  One of nine soldiers killed when their outpost was attacked by small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades by enemy forces in Wanat, Afghanistan, on July 13, 2008. He was member of 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team.

JOSHUA BRENNAN

SGT Joshua Brennan was shot multiple times on 25 October 2007 in an ambush during Operation Rock Avalanche.  He succumbed to his wounds the following day. He was member of 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team.

JONATHAN P. BROSTROM

1st Lt. Jonathan P. Brostrom, 24 of Hawaii. One of nine soldiers killed when their outpost was attacked by small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades by enemy forces in Wanat, Afghanistan, on July 13, 2008. He was member of 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team.

TROY S. EZERNACK

SSg. Troy S. Ezernak, 39of Lancaster Pennsylvania, was killed on 9 October 2005  in a grenade attack at Qalat, Zabul Province, Afgh.  He was member of "A" Co., 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne)

Jacob S. Fletcher

 

PFC. Jacob S. Fletcher, 28, of Bay Shore, N.Y., was killed on Nov. 13 2003 in Samara, Iraq.  Fletcher was riding on a bus when an improvised explosive device exploded. Fletcher died of his injuries. Fletcher was assigned to Company C, 2nd Battalion (Airborne), 503rd Infantry Regt, 173rd Airborne Bde, Italy.

ISRAEL GARCIA

Sgt. Israel Garcia, 24 of Long Beach, California. One of nine soldiers killed when their outpost was attacked by small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades by enemy forces in Wanat, Afghanistan, on July 13, 2008. He was member of 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team.

Blake W. Hall Blake W. Hall

Spc. Blake W. Hall, 20, of East Prairie, Missouri died on August 21 near Baylough, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near their HMMWV during patrol operations. The soldiers were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Vicenza, Italy.

JASON D. HOVATER

Cpl. Jason D. Hovater, 24 of Clinton, Tennessee. One of nine soldiers killed when their outpost was attacked by small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades by enemy forces in Wanat, Afghanistan, on July 13, 2008. He was member of 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team.

Joshua M. Hyland

1st Lt. Joshua M. Hyland, 31, of Missoula, Montana   died on August 21 near Baylough, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near their HMMWV during patrol operations. The soldiers were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Vicenza, Italy.

Michael R. Lehmiller

Sgt. Michael R. Lehmiller, 23, of Anderson, South Carolina   died on August 21 near Baylough, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near their HMMWV during patrol operations. The soldiers were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Vicenza, Italy.

Joseph Minucci II

 

Sgt. Joseph Minucci II, 23, of Richeyville, Pa, was killed on Nov. 13 2003 in Samara, Iraq. Minucci was riding on a bus when an improvised explosive device exploded.  Minucci died of his injuries.  Minucci was assigned to C Company, 2nd Battalion (Airborne), 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Camp Ederle, Italy.

CHRISTOPHER L. PALMER

Pvt. Christopher L. Palmer, 22 of Sacramento, CA was killed on 21 August 2005 when  when an improvised explosive device detonated near him south of Deh Chopan,  Zabul Province, Afgh.  He was member of "B" Co., 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne)

MATTHEW B. PHILLIPS

Cpl. Matthew B. Phillips, 27 of Jasper, Georgia.  One of nine soldiers killed when their outpost was attacked by small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades by enemy forces in Wanat, Afghanistan, on July 13, 2008. He was member of 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team.

PRUITT A. RAINEY

Cpl. Pruitt A. Rainey, 22 of Haw River, North Carolina.  One of nine soldiers killed when their outpost, known as Combat Outpost Khaler,  was attacked by small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades by enemy forces in Wanat, Afghanistan, on July 13, 2008. He was member of "C" Co., 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne).

MICHAEL W. SCHAFER

SSG. Michael W. Schafer, 25, of Spring Hill, Florida was killed on 25 July 2005 by hostile fire west of Deh Rawood [Uruzgan Orovince] Afgh. He was member of "C" Co., 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne).

Kyle Thomas

 

Killed Thursday September 25, 2003 in Kirkuk by an improvised explosive device. Assigned to 2/503rd Airborne Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade.  He was from Topeka, KS, aged 23.

STEVEN C. TUCKER

Cpl. Steven Tucker, 19, of Grapvine Texas was killed 21 May, 2005 by an IED attack, Khandahar (military hospital) Afgh. He was member of "A" Co., 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne).

GUNNAR W. ZWILLING

Cpl. Gunnar W. Zwilling of Florissant, Missouri. One of nine soldiers killed when their outpost was attacked by small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades by enemy forces in Wanat, Afghanistan, on July 13, 2008. He was member of 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team.
