The "Marcos" Connection

Around 1972 some of the military and Government men of the then -President of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos reportedly landed at the Topside Parade Grounds by helicopter. They proceeded under arms down to the Ramsey Ravine and excavated two large holes about two feet deep each.

After loading a certain amount of items into four ammunition boxes they returned to the Parade Ground at Topside and departed three hours later. In the pre-war days this ravine was utilized as a trash dump by the people of Barrio San Jose and it is assumed that the visiting men recovered an unknown amount of valuables from the old dump.

In hindsight it would appear that an old dumping ground would indeed be the ideal place to hide valuables, especially since the original location of the gold ‘vault’ wasn’t all that far away. However, again, there is no conclusive evidence that this actually occurred.
