Docked atCairns but not to stay�loaded  parachutes aboard and many used to alchol used the time to grog up.  Theusuall eight ball s missed theship.  All arrived just in time  destination stillunknown

  Docked at Port Moresby, New Guinea  and stayed afew hours only topullout again  destination stillunknown

Arrived a Milne Bay, New Guinea and stayed a few hours only to pulloutagain.

Arrived at Dobadura and at last unloaded into ducks for a ride toour new Camp site at Cape Sudest---the old camp site of the 1st Cav. Div who ha d just left for theAdmiralties.

Company allexcited about pos siblemission at Hollandia and much time spent getting equipment in shape '..but as usual tono good'.mission called off.camp site changed.rain and heat  and mucho work

Regiment alerted at 1515 hour company strength 9 officers and 139 EM.

Combat equipment issued at night'dark as a well digger's and raininglike hell

Company awakend at 0330 hr, breadfasted and entrucked for the airstrip from which we took off at 0620 hour bound for Hollandia.  Landed at Cyclops Drome Hollandia at Lo35 hr amd moved toa rock strewn bivouac area.  The next day we moved toa Dutch coconut plantation and with the is sue of jungle hammocks we allstrung ourselves a sack.

Rumors are ripe that we'll beused to reinforce the hard pressed attackers on Biak Island Jap counterattacks had made the situation desperate  but again themission was calledoff and we took up watchful waiting again.

 

14 June44

Company alerted and moved by truck tothebeach where we set up for the nigh t to leave next morning for  Tami River..15 nautical milestothe south of Hollandia with a mission to carry on active patrolling against the Japs who were infiltrating up from Wewak.

 

17 June 44

Lt Ortmen and patrol sighted fivedead Japs and found what seemed to be excape route to South Atappe.

 

19 June 44

1st blood�one Jap killed at WatongVillage..natives reported 25 Japs had left for the South the previousmorning.  For next few weeks patroling continued and many prisoners taken Capt Taylortakes off for a patrol which finally endedatAttape�.canoe and native praues were a great help.
